Designing AIG’s transformation

Designing Through Change

A sometimes dramatic 4.5 year journey that began when AIG was the 10th largest company in the world. We ran a fast paced full-service creative shop for global clients, using global teams, all while reinventing ourselves through design, brand, and internal transformation

As Associate Director of Creative Services, I managed a team of 9+ designers, multimedia developers, and IAs, both internally and overseas. We designed and built marketing and transactional websites, display ads, flash and rich internet applications, and everything from apps and brand campaigns to conceptual pitch-work for clients across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

This was the 3rd time I crossed paths with Robert Benmosche, as he was brought in as CEO to navigate the company through the restructuring and repayment process. The previous two were when I was working on the MetLife Service Portals, and then later building out NYMA’s promotional viewbook.

Mobile App Design

RIAs were doomed. Mobile was ascendant. So our first Mobile App task was to translate our beautiful work designing smoothly animated interactive flash RIAs for TravelGuard’s Travel Assistance website. We developed a requirements doc with the client, and built out some early visuals. It went final after I left:
